Is my confidence full and strong? WHAT IT MEANS For Paul the great central Truth is that God has acted in Christ to bring about the Salvation of sinners. Salvation cannot be merited or earned; it must be received as a Gift of Grace. Sinners cannot merit Salvation, they can only trust God or, as Paul puts it, have Faith
